New Delhi . In view of the deteriorating air quality in the country’s capital Delhi, the Delhi government has taken two major decisions. The government has decided to send Rs 10,000 to the accounts of registered and verified construction workers affected by the stoppage of construction work. Apart from this, it has been decided to make 50 percent work from home mandatory in all government and private offices except essential services. Delhi Government Minister Kapil Mishra informed about this decision of the government. Kapil Mishra said that construction work was stopped during the third phase of GRAP. This decision of the government had affected the livelihood of construction workers working on daily wages. To provide relief to the workers, the government will transfer Rs 10,000 as compensation to all registered and verified workers through DBT.
He further said that the same compensation will be given under the fourth phase of GRAP. There is an appeal to the construction workers to register on the Delhi Government portal for verification as soon as possible to get the payment. The aim of this step is to help the workers affected by pollution related restrictions.
Kapil Mishra said that apart from this, all private offices of NCT Delhi will not work with more than 50 per cent staff, while the rest of the staff will work from home. This guideline has been issued by the Labor Department. Along with mandating 50 percent attendance, offices are also being encouraged to adopt flexible working hours.
He further said that it is not necessary for all the staff to come and go at the same time, the timing should be staggered. For example, if a group is called at 10 am and everyone is coming from the same place to the same destination, they should return at different times. These guidelines are being issued for smooth implementation.
