Amravati, February 10 (). Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Tuesday and sought the Centre’s support on funding and approvals.

According to the official press release, the Chief Minister discussed specific issues related to the state, including ongoing and proposed projects, and sought help from the Center on funding and approvals. The Chief Minister posted on social media that he discussed important issues related to the development and progress of Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu Naidu also met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament. During the meeting, the Chief Minister raised issues related to development priority of Andhra Pradesh, central assistance and financial assistance for projects in the state.

Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is a key partner in the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. The TDP also held a separate meeting with Union Steel Minister HD Kumaraswamy and thanked the Central government for its support in bringing the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL) back to profitability.

The Chief Minister told the Union Minister that the turnaround of Vizag Steel Plant was possible due to the financial assistance received from the Centre, the strong support of the Andhra Pradesh Government and the strong determination and hard work of the workers and employees of the plant.

Chandrababu Naidu said that RINL has not only returned to profit but is also operating at full capacity, which is a major milestone for this famous public sector steel plant.

The Chief Minister requested the Central Government to continue similar support and cooperation in future to further strengthen RINL and ensure its long-term stability and growth.

Naidu also met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal and discussed Andhra Pradesh’s flagship Swachh Andhra initiative being implemented as part of the Swachh Bharat programme.

According to a release issued from the Chief Minister’s Office here, the Chief Minister briefed the Union Minister about the major steps being taken by the State Government to strengthen the waste management system and transform Andhra Pradesh into a zero landfill state.

Naidu said that a detailed action plan has been prepared with an estimated expenditure of Rs 276 crore under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 to achieve zero landfill status in urban local bodies in the state. As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 framework, the Chief Minister requested Manohar Lal to sanction Rs 105 crore as the Centre’s share to help implement the Zero Landfill Action Plan.
