Indore. Many people fell ill and some lost their lives after drinking contaminated water in Indore. There is a stir in the administration regarding this matter. Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya says that we are getting the entire area investigated. This will take eight to ten days. Speaking to the media in Indore, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that there was a possibility that drain water had got mixed in the drinking water. Work for this is already underway and is still going on. He said that investigation has also revealed that dirty drain water was mixed in the water. He said that the place near the police post is most important. We will investigate thoroughly. This may take eight to ten days. He also informed that he had held a meeting with the leaders of the area. He said that a total of eight people have died, out of which two to three have died due to natural causes.
Kailash Vijayvargiya said that if the doctors tell that he also died due to drinking contaminated water, then he will also be included in this list.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has also met the patients. Preliminary investigations have traced the spread of the disease to a leak in the main water supply pipeline of the Narmada, where sewage from a nearby toilet reportedly got into the drinking water.
Till Wednesday, 116 people were admitted to hospitals in Indore, out of which 36 people have been discharged from the hospital after recovery. More than 100 people are being treated for symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration.
According to the Indore district administration, medical teams deployed for door-to-door testing have surveyed more than 2,700 houses, covering about 12,000 residents, and provided first aid on the spot to 1,146 people with mild symptoms.
