The starting price of Harrier petrol has been kept at Rs 12.89 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), while the starting price of Safari petrol has been kept at Rs 13.29 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Tata Motors has launched petrol versions of its popular SUVs Harrier and Safari in the Indian market. The price of 5-seater Tata Harrier Petrol has been kept between Rs 12.89 lakh to Rs 24.69 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). At the same time, Tata Safari Petrol has been introduced in 6-seater and 7-seater configuration. The 6-seater Safari petrol is priced between Rs 22.83 lakh to Rs 25.20 lakh, while the 7-seater version is priced between Rs 13.29 lakh to Rs 25.10 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Both the SUVs have a new 1.5 liter HYPERION Turbo-GDi petrol engine, which claims to give the best mileage in the segment. The 1.5 liter Hyperion turbo petrol engine produces 168 bhp power and 280 Nm torque. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission is also available as an option.
Tata Harrier Petrol is available in a total of 8 variants, which include Smart, Pure X, Adventure X, Adventure X Plus, Fearless X, Fearless X Plus, Fearless Ultra and Fearless Ultra Red #Dark. At the same time, Tata Safari Petrol has been launched in 10 trim levels, which include Smart, Pure X, Adventure X Plus, Accomplished X, Accomplished

Talking about the features, both the SUVs are equipped with premium and advanced technology. These include features like 14.5-inch cinematic touchscreen infotainment system (Samsung Neo QLED technology), Dolby Atmos, 10-speaker JBL sound system, Vision XE-IRVM dual dash cam and DVR, Clear View dual camera washer, Intelli-Start with Climate Sync and VisionSync memory ORVMs (with auto reverse dip).
Speaking on the launch of this new powertrain, Vivek Srivastava, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, said that there are more than 1.5 lakh Harriers and Safaris on Indian roads and both these SUVs have been carrying forward the legacy of design, performance and safety. The new HYPERION petrol engine further enhances these qualities and delivers a premium driving experience with powerful performance.

In terms of design, no major changes have been made in the petrol version. However, the Harrier Petrol has been introduced in the new Nitro Crimson color and its cabin has been given a dual-tone theme of Oyster White and Titan Brown. Whereas, Safari Petrol gets 19-inch alloy wheels, signature LED DRLs and Carnelian Red and Black cabin upholstery.
Both SUVs are strong from safety point of view also. The Harrier and Safari petrol have received a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP across all variants with the Hyperion engine. Harrier Petrol will compete directly with MG Hector in the Indian market. Whereas Tata Safari will compete with SUVs like Mahindra XUV 7XO.
