Now the chatbot Grok will not be able to create objectionable or indecent pictures of women under any circumstances, even if the users have a premium account.
The safety account of the This rule will apply to all users, including paid users.
There was outrage in many countries over Grok’s ‘Spicy Mode’ feature, through which people could create obscene deepfake images of women and children by typing simple words, such as removing someone’s clothes or showing them in a bikini. For this reason many countries either blocked Grok or started investigating it.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India had sought an action taken report from XAI in this matter. At the same time, the Attorney General of America’s California state also started an investigation against the developer of Grok.
Furthermore, a group of 28 social organizations wrote letters to the CEOs of Apple and Google demanding that the Grok and X apps be removed from their app stores, as the number of pornographic images was increasing rapidly.
Now X has limited the ability to create and edit photos to paid subscribers only. Earlier this facility was only for premium users, but now it has been made more strict.
Ax said that this adds an additional layer of security, so that if someone violates the law or rules, action can be taken against him.
The platform also said that content that violates serious rules, such as child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and nude photos without permission, will be removed immediately. Also, strict action will be taken against accounts breaking such rules.
In December, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had directed X to immediately remove or block access to all objectionable content already available against the law.
The ministry had also said that X would have to strictly enforce the rules and suspend or close such accounts which have created indecent images of women and children using Grok.
According to reports, in India, X removed about 3,500 obscene images created with the help of Grok and banned about 600 users who misused this AI chatbot.
