Jammu, 13 September (). Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Naxuben Bambhania visited the flood -affected parts of the new township here on the second day of his two -day stay and recently reviewed the loss of residential houses and agricultural land due to heavy rains. During his visit, he inspected the damaged houses and met the families of the victims, including the women.
The minister also visited the Pargwal border areas of Akhnoor and inspected the damage caused to public property, commercial establishments and other structures from the sudden floods arising from rainfall.
On this occasion, Union Minister of State Nishben Bambhania said that the central government is standing with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in this hour. He said, “The Modi government is well aware of the loss of life loss and loss of property and understands the suffering of the affected people.”
He said that it is the endeavor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reach directly to the people affected by the recent floods and according to their guidance, the central government is visiting every affected area, so that the ground reality can be understood, assessed the losses and ensure quick relief and rehabilitation to the affected.
The minister said that he is a partner in the grief and suffering of the people and his purpose is to provide them with courage and support. He said that the expectations and beliefs of the people are in the Modi government and the government will leave no stone unturned to provide timely relief and rehabilitation to the affected families.
The Union Minister appreciated the courage and patience of the people of the highly sensitive border region like Pargwal of Akhnoor, saying that people of this region face double challenges like firing from across the border and frequent floods from the Chenab river on the other hand, but their resolve and the government is confident that they are standing under these difficult circumstances. He thanked the BSF personnel on duty 24 hours in this area and said that despite all the challenges, it helps to maintain a normal situation here.
He informed that during his two -day visit to Jammu, he reviewed the damage caused by floods in the highly sensitive border areas like Sumbh, New Basti of Jammu and Pargwal of Akhnoor. He instructed the administration to ensure quick relief and rehabilitation for the recent flood affected families. During this, he interacted with local citizens as well as public representatives and administrative officials and inspected the sites. Akhnoor MLA H Mohan Lal and other leaders and officials were present during their visit.
The Union Minister visited Sumbha area of Samba district on Friday and reviewed relief and rehabilitation works there. He inspected the areas affected by landslides and damaged houses and other infrastructure and assured them of speedy relief by interacting with flood affected families.
