Dehradun, 13 September (). Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the Government Doon Medical College Hospital and took a thorough review of the health services, quality of treatment and arrangements available in the hospital.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister met the patients treated in the hospital and inquired about their health and asked them about the medical facilities provided by the hospital. Through dialogue with patients and their families, the Chief Minister directly understood the quality of medical services and also gave necessary instructions.
In order to improve health services in the state, Chief Minister Dhami gave clear instructions to provide proper facilities for the Timardars in the waiting area (waiting room) present in the hospital premises during surprise inspection.
Taking stock of the waiting room of the hospital, the Chief Minister directed the officials that the Timardars who came with the patients also got a convenient environment. For this, adequate system of drinking water, fans and seating should be ensured. He said that Timardar is an important part of the hospital system and they should also get basic facilities, so that they can be mentally comfortable.
The Chief Minister also directed that cleanliness, regular sanitization and color should be provided in the hospital premises with immediate effect. He said that the hospital is not only a place of medicine, but it is also a place to support mental and physically patients and their families, so its hygiene, beautification and order are very important.
He told the medical officials that the convenience and honor of the patients as well as their families is also in the priority of the state government. He emphasized that all possible steps are being taken to get better services to the common people in government hospitals.
During this time, Chief Minister Dhami also reached the blood sample collection center, where the operator working in the center got information about the process of collection, recording and testing in the laboratory. He appreciated the technology and efficiency of resources being used in the center and directed to monitor it continuously.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister instructed the hospital administration, medical officers and staff that providing time and quality treatment to the patients should be the highest priority. He said that the state government is determined to make health services more strong and all necessary resources are being provided for this.
The Chief Minister also directed that transparency, sensitivity and quick service system in health services should be ensured so that the general public can get direct benefits.
Chief Minister Dhami also reviewed the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana Help Desk set up in the hospital premises during the inspection of the Government Doon Medical College Hospital.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister received information about the functioning of the scheme from the employees posted at the help desk, the assistance provided to the beneficiaries, the process of making the card, the status of the claim of the patients and the facility being provided to the public. He also interacted with the beneficiaries present on the spot and listened to their experiences and inquired about the efficiency of the help desk.
The Chief Minister directed the officials that the benefit of the Atal Ayushman Yojana should reach every eligible person, it should be ensured. He said that every person who comes to the help desk should get simple, clear and quick information, so that they do not have any inconvenience in joining the plan and getting benefits.
Chief Minister Dhami also said that this ambitious scheme of the state government is similar to Sanjeevani for poor and needy patients, and all concerned departments will have to be vigilant and active for its effective implementation system.
