India will showcase its development journey, cultural diversity and military might at the 77th Republic Day celebrations on Monday. The event will also showcase models of newly formed military units and major weapon systems used in Operation Sindoor. European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will be the chief guests at the ceremony. This program to be held on the Path of Duty will be based on the theme of the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ and will be led by President Draupadi Murmu. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 am and will last for approximately 90 minutes.
The program will begin with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying tribute to the martyred soldiers at the National War Memorial. Thereafter, President Draupadi Murmu and the Chief Guest will arrive on the duty path in a traditional carriage escorted by the President’s bodyguards. A special attraction this year will be the first demonstration of the ‘Phaseded Battle Array’ of the Indian Army. It will feature drones, tanks and artillery in a battle practice format that simulates real-world war situations.

BrahMos, Akash, Surakshatra… these army weapons will be displayed on the duty path
Dhanush Gun System and Amogh Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) will be part of the parade. Both these systems reflect the spirit of self-reliant India and technological self-reliance in defense manufacturing. The supersonic BrahMos weapon system and the indigenous Suntri Universal Rocket Launcher System will demonstrate long-range precision strike capability and tremendous lethality. What to expect at the parade on the line of duty today?
Special highlights of military honors and cultural programs will be seen in the Republic Day celebrations. The parade will start at 10:30 am. Before this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the National War Memorial to pay tribute to the martyrs. Highlights of the event will include a 21-gun salute, cultural presentations based on the theme of ‘Unity in Diversity’, showering of flowers by Mi-17 helicopters and march of gallantry award winners. To add international flavor to the celebrations on the line of duty, a contingent from the European Union will take part in the parade with four flags.
