Congress alleges factual errors in Madhya Pradesh government's official diary

Bhopal, January 28 (). Controversy has arisen over factual errors in the annual diary published by the Madhya Pradesh government for the year 2026. Congress claims that the names of those officers who have retired are still recorded in the diary.

Congress spokesperson Vivek Tripathi claimed that after reviewing the official diary published for the year 2026, several factual errors have been found, in which the names of heads of at least eight important government departments are missing.

Tripathi said, “Madhya Pradesh government’s diary is not just a general publication, but an official guiding document for the administration, elected representatives, media, social organizations and the general public. In such a situation, such major mistakes directly raise questions on the seriousness and administrative efficiency of the government.”

He claimed that names of officers transferred from their former departments many years ago and even names of officers who have retired are listed as department heads or other senior positions.

“There is no connection between the post, name of the officer and the department concerned, which clearly shows that the diary was compiled without any updated information or verification,” Tripathi alleged.

He also said that such mistakes damage the government’s credibility, create confusion and chaos at the administrative level and reflect a lack of coordination and accountability within the government.

Tripathi also said that the mobile numbers of most government officials are not included in the diary, even though the government provides them a monthly allowance for these numbers.

“The names of principal secretaries of eight departments of the state government – Prisons, Transport, Agriculture, Labour, School Education, Law and Legislative Affairs, Public Relations and Women and Child Development – are not mentioned in the diary,” he said.

Tripathi said that Congress has also submitted a complaint regarding this matter to the office of Chief Secretary Anurag Jain on Wednesday.
