Gwalior. A massive explosion occurred on Thursday evening in a railway spring manufacturing factory located near Sitholi railway station in Gwalior district. Five employees were injured in this accident, out of which the condition of two is said to be critical. The incident took place at the Railway Spring Manufacturing Factory located near Sitholi Railway Station in Gwalior district, where a massive explosion occurred between 6:30 and 7:00 pm on Thursday evening. The accident occurred when a sudden fire broke out in the LPG pipeline in the factory. The fire caused a massive explosion, shaking the entire unit and causing panic among the employees. The injured employees have been identified as Kaushal Srivastava, Yogesh, Shabbir, Hemant Chaubey and Amar Singh. All five were immediately admitted to nearby hospitals. According to the police, all of them are currently admitted in ITM Hospital, Gwalior. Doctors at ITM Hospital said that all the injured employees were brought to the emergency room. The injuries of two of them are serious and they are being given intensive observation and treatment.
According to preliminary information, the accident is believed to have occurred due to negligence in handling the LPG pipeline system. However, the exact cause of the fire and explosion is not yet known. Senior officials of the factory have also not commented on the reason for the incident. Station House Officer Shakti Singh Yadav of Jhansi Road police station area said that immediately after the explosion, the police team reached the spot and inspected. Police have registered the case and started investigation. Technical experts and forensic teams will also inspect the site.
According to police officials, a thorough investigation will be conducted to find out the exact cause of the accident. The local administration has directed the factory management to fully cooperate with the investigating agencies and ensure proper medical care and financial assistance to the injured workers and their families.
Industrial safety experts said factories dealing with LPG and other hazardous gases should strictly follow safety protocols, conduct regular maintenance of pipelines and provide mandatory safety training to employees. –
