New Delhi, February 15 (IANS). In the morning the body is fully prepared to be active. Often people have tea, coffee or breakfast straight after waking up in the morning, but both Ayurveda and science believe that drinking lukewarm water as soon as they wake up in the morning can provide amazing benefits for health. It makes the body healthy and fresh from inside. Lukewarm water hydrates the body, improves digestion and helps in protecting from many diseases.
Keep in mind that the water should be so hot that it feels hot when touched with the hand, but not too hot. Generally 40 to 45 degree Celsius temperature is considered suitable. It is best to drink a glass of water on an empty stomach as soon as you wake up in the morning. This starts the day with freshness.
According to Ayurveda, proper digestion of the stomach is essential for the health of the rest of the body and lukewarm water is very beneficial for the digestive system. Drinking water on an empty stomach in the morning helps in digesting the food present in the stomach quickly. It relieves the problem of constipation and provides relief from flatulence or gas.
Apart from this, lukewarm water detoxifies the body. This water removes the toxins and dirt accumulated in the body during the day. This helps the liver and kidneys, keeps the intestines clean and the stomach feels light. This process strengthens the body from within and increases immunity.
Lukewarm water also improves blood flow. It increases the body temperature slightly, due to which the blood flows faster throughout the body. Oxygen and nutrition reach every organ, the heart remains healthy, and the skin gets a natural glow.
Not only digestion and blood flow, but drinking lukewarm water in the morning also provides relief from stiffness in muscles and joints. It is also helpful in reducing stomach pain and cramps during women’s periods.
Lukewarm water also helps in weight loss. It speeds up metabolism, which burns calories quickly and reduces hunger. If taken with a balanced diet and regular exercise, it is extremely helpful in weight loss.
