Saudi Arabia has taken another big leap in the world of technology. Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, Chairman of Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), told during the ongoing ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ in New Delhi that the Kingdom is building a huge AI system under its ‘Vision 2030’. The aim of this new ecosystem is to include Saudi Arabia among the top technology countries of the world.
Millions of dollars investment and new plan
Saudi Arabia has started the second phase of its National AI Strategy. The government aims to invest $20 billion to strengthen Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure. Apart from this, a separate fund of $ 5 billion has been created to help new startups and companies.
The government has decided to work together with big global companies like Microsoft, Google and Cisco. Microsoft has confirmed that their ‘Saudi Arabia East’ data center will be fully operational by the end of 2026.
Government work will become easier, 400 systems connected
The Saudi government has connected more than 400 government systems to its data bank. The general public and the migrants living there will directly benefit from this. Now the use of AI will be increased in platforms like ‘Absher’ and health services, which will make government work faster and easier than before.
According to the latest report, Saudi Arabia has come first in the world in terms of using AI in the public sector. New technology is also being implemented in smart diagnostics in hospitals and the energy sector.
Target to prepare 1 lakh experts
Big announcements have also been made regarding employment in Saudi Arabia. The government has set a target of preparing 1 lakh AI specialists by 2030. So far, more than 12 lakh people have completed basic training. This scheme will create new jobs in the tech sector and open new opportunities for the people working there.
