Now traveling between Oman and Uzbekistan is going to be very easy. Oman’s Ministry of Transport and Oman Air have jointly decided to start a direct flight from Muscat to Tashkent. This new service will start from June 1, 2026, which will significantly boost trade and tourism between the two countries. Opening of this route will save a lot of time for passengers and will open new avenues in the field of logistics.
What is the flight schedule and ticket price?
This direct flight service will be operated by Oman Air, the national airline of Oman. According to the information, this flight will fly twice a week. Now it will take only 4 hours to reach Tashkent from Muscat, which earlier used to take much longer if going via Dubai or Sharjah. Ticket booking is reported to be available on the airline’s website.
Start date: 1 June 2026
Flight Operator: Oman Air
Travel time: About 4 hours (non-stop)
Estimated Fare: One-way fares are expected to start at 112 to 115 OMR (about $290-300).
Currently the fare for connecting flights ranges between 90 to 130 OMR, but being a direct flight, this option is considered time-saving and comfortable.
Visa rules and important things for travelers
The purpose of this direct flight is not only to increase traffic but also to support tourism. For this, both the countries have simplified the visa rules considerably. However, all passengers traveling are advised to have health insurance that covers their entire stay. You can easily understand the visa rules in the table given below.
Citizen Rules Omani citizens can stay in Uzbekistan visa-free for up to 30 days. Passport must be valid for 6 months. Citizens of Uzbekistan can enter Oman without visa for 14 days. If you stay longer than this, you will have to take an e-Visa or arrival visa.
The initiative is part of a larger plan to connect Oman’s ports to markets in Central Asia, which was recently finalized by Transport Ministry officials during their visit to Tashkent.
