In Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, a woman climbed a high-tension electricity tower and created a ruckus. She remained on the tower for about eight hours. After much persuasion by the local people and assurance from the police, she came down. This incident took place in Sarai police station area of the district.
Babli Saket, 50, resident of Koni village, Itmani, has a son who is lodged in Pachaur district jail for the last three months in a murder case. Family members say that upset over not getting bail, the woman climbed the tower at around 9 in the morning and refused to come down, demanding justice.
On receiving the information, police, revenue and city council officials reached the spot. Sarai Tehsildar Dharam Prakash Mishra, police station in-charge Jitendra Bhadauria and local councilor Prem Singh Bhati talked to the woman and assured that she would be given legal aid to appear in the court on 26th. Officials will also support the family.
Phone delivered by hydraulic machine
Because the woman did not have a mobile phone, it was difficult for officers to communicate. Using a hydraulic machine from a private company, a mobile phone was delivered to him so that family and government officials could contact him directly. The woman was relieved and came down from the tower at around 5 pm.
The administration also deployed an ambulance and electricity department team on the spot to deal with any untoward incident. Police said the woman was counseled and handed over to her family, and law and order was completely normal. Meanwhile, the local people termed the incident as a warning to the administration and said that timely communication and help is necessary in sensitive matters, so that no one is forced to risk their lives like this.
