Gandhinagar, 15 September (). Under the ‘Public Protection Sutuation Campaign’ under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, more than 2.01 crore beneficiaries are connected as per the status of 27 August 2025 under ‘Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana’ (PMSBY) in Gujarat. These beneficiaries have ensured the economic security of their family by filling a premium of only Rs 20 annually.
Under this scheme, individual accident insurance coverage is provided to the workers of low -income and unorganized sector at minor rates. In which coverage of 1 to 2 lakh rupees is available in the case of disability or death in the accident.
It is noteworthy that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several welfare schemes have been implemented to ensure social and economic security for the common citizens of the country. These include a total of four schemes including Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJBY), Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
A ‘Public Safety Campaign’ is being run for three months from July 1 to September 30-2025, including Gujarat, from the Government of India undertaking, especially under the financial inclusion and social security scheme.
This campaign is being run in 14,610 gram panchayats and urban bodies of Gujarat to provide the benefit of these schemes of the Center at the local level. An important decision has been taken to assist the responsibility to the village computer entrepreneur (VCE), recently under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to assist in this campaign.
Under this campaign, in addition to opening an account of citizens who do not have a bank account, various information is provided regarding the process of adding the name of KYC (knowing their customer) and the name of the successor in the account, prevention of digital fraud and deposit amount in the bank. It is noteworthy that under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Developed India’, a statewide campaign was launched from Pundhara village in Gandhinagar district on July 1, 2025 to make the ‘Public Safety Saturation Campaign’ in Gujarat. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated this statewide campaign virtually in the presence of Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai.
To avail the ‘Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana’, the applicant should have a savings account in any bank, as well as the age of the applicant between 18 and 70 years. Under the scheme, the benefit of insurance coverage of Rs 2 lakh in an accident or Rs 1 lakh in the event of partial permanent disability is given in the event of accident or completely permanent disability.
