New Delhi, March 2 (IANS). While all the political parties are busy preparing for the assembly elections to be held in West Bengal, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary has demanded from the Election Commission to stop the assembly elections in the state until the pending issues are resolved. The Congress leader has also written a letter to the Election Commission in this regard.

Speaking to IANS, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary said that participation in elections is the legal right of all genuine voters; This is our legal right. But, right now we are seeing in Bengal that the names of 60 lakh people are not in the voter list. Therefore, a process has been initiated which is called ‘Under Adjudications’, meaning these cases are under consideration. There is no mention of when it will end.

He said that I believe that as long as even one valid voter remains out of the voter list, elections should not be held. Otherwise, the constitutional rights of the common people will be deprived. Therefore, until the final voter list is announced, and all pending matters are resolved, elections should not be held in Bengal.

On the issue of infiltration raised by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary said that if someone goes to Bengal without talking about the issue of ‘infiltrators’, then how can the elections be fair. We have been talking about infiltrators for decades, but where do these infiltrators disappear after the elections? The issues of infiltrators are raised during elections, but they disappear as soon as the elections are over.

On the demand of boycotting Bengal elections, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said that I am also making a demand that the elections should be stopped. The important thing is that the way the Election Commission is doing its work, we are seeing that the rights of the common people are being snatched away.
