Rang Panchami will be celebrated with great pomp on March 8, the fifth day of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month. Panchami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month started from 7:17 pm on Saturday and will end on March 8 at 9:10 pm. According to Udaya Tithi, the festival of Rang Panchami will be celebrated on 8th March. According to religious beliefs, Rang Panchami is also called Dev Panchami. It is believed that on this day gods and goddesses come to earth and play Holi with the devotees. For this reason, devotees celebrate this day by throwing gulal and colors towards the sky. In Hindu religion, the festival of Rang Panchami is considered very sacred and important. This festival is celebrated every year on the fifth day of Holi. Worship of Lord Shri Krishna and Radha Rani, festivals with colors and religious programs will be organized in various temples of Chhotikashi.
Astrologer Dr. Mahendra Mishra told that according to mythological beliefs, Lord Shri Krishna had played Holi with Radha Rani and Gopis in Dwapar era. Seeing this divine leela of his, the Gods and Goddesses showered him with flowers. Since then the tradition of celebrating the festival of Rang Panchami has been going on. This is how the worship will be done: Lord Shri Krishna and Radha Rani are worshiped methodically. Red, yellow, green, blue and white colored flowers have special significance in worship.
Along with this, worship is done with Ganga water, lamp, incense sticks, sandalwood, turmeric-kumkum, sweets and Panchamrit etc. Devotees take bath in the morning, wear clean clothes, offer fire to the Sun God and after this, install the idol of Lord Krishna-Radha and do Abhishek and worship. During the puja, Om Shri Krishnaya Namah mantra is chanted and aarti is performed and prasad is distributed by offering kheer, fruits and panchamrit.
