Famous craft beer brand Bira 91 (B9 Beverages) is in big trouble. The employees of the company have now decided to go to court. It is being told that the salaries and old money of more than 700 current and old employees have not been received yet. This outstanding amount is said to be around Rs 50 crore. On March 8, 2026, the employees made it clear that even after long talks no solution was found, so now the only legal option is left.

🗞️: An explosion occurred near the US Embassy in Norway, police told what is the extent of the damage.

Why are the employees angry and what is the dispute?

Employees say they tried hard to negotiate with the company. On March 1, 2026, a ‘silent protest’ was also held outside the company’s founder’s house in Defense Colony, New Delhi. According to the employees, many people have not received salary since February 2025. At the same time, the reimbursement of travel and other expenses is stuck since November 2024.

The employees union said that they have given more than 200 written complaints to different agencies, but no concrete solution has been found yet. For this reason, preparations to file a case in the court have now been completed.

Company’s condition and CEO’s response

Company founder and CEO Ankur Jain has admitted that the employees are in pain and their anger is justified. He said that the company is in the final stages of deal with new investors and all the dues will be paid by the end of March 2026. According to the report, the company had incurred huge losses in FY 2024 and the revenue had fallen by 30%.

A major problem faced by the company was when the name was changed from ‘Private Limited’ to ‘Limited’. Due to this, licenses had to be taken again and sales stopped for several months. Due to this the company suffered a loss of about Rs 80 crore.

Mistakes regarding PF and tax also

The employees have made another serious allegation. He says that tax (TDS) and PF (Provident Fund) money was deducted from his salary, but it was not deposited with the government.

Despite the money being deducted from the salary, it was not deposited in the government account. Employees are facing difficulty in taking loans and filing tax returns. Medical insurance premiums have not been paid, due to which there is difficulty in treatment in case of illness.

At present, production has also been largely halted since the beginning of March and there is a shortage of goods in the market.
