New Delhi, March 12 (). Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Kerala on Thursday released its first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. This announcement has been made through a press release issued from the Kerala office of the party on 12 March 2026. The names of a total of 22 candidates have been announced in this list, which includes women and candidates from different categories.
Prominent candidates in the list include Dr Celine Philip (Kottayam, LAC 97), Dr Alphonsa Mathew (Kozhikode North, LAC 27), Prakriti N.V. (Sultan Bathery, SAC 18 – ST Reserved), Advocate Basil John (Thodupuzha, LAC 90), Vinu K. (NEMAM, LAC 135), Dr. Shaju K.Y. (Irinjalakuda, LAC 70), Jithin Sadanandanan (Vadakancherry, LAC 65) and Rafiq C.A. (Kalpetta, LAC 19).
Apart from this, Mustafa P.K. (Koyilandy, LAC 23), Advocate P.P.A. Sagir (Manjeri, LAC 37). Releasing the list of candidates in the second part, Abubakar K.P. (Malappuram, LAC 40), Abdul Aziz Kadalundi (Vallikkunnu, LAC 42), Udayan Sukumaran (Palakkad, LAC 56), Poly Francis Guruvayur (Guruvayur, LAC 63), Jayakrishnan P.N. (Pudukkad, LAC 71) and Wilson Cullen (Chalakkudy, LAC 72).
The party appointed Dr. K.M. Francis Roy (Kodungallur, LAC 73), Hakkith Hamid (Aluva, LAC 76), Shamsu T.K.N. (Kalamassery, LAC 77), Jose George (Thrippunithura, LAC 83), Mamachan D. (Kottarakkara, LAC 119) and Manoj S.P. (Kovalam, LAC 139) has been made the candidate.
Most of these candidates are from the general category, while Prakriti N.V. Will contest elections from ST reserved seat. The party has fielded candidates from various districts like Kottayam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Idukki, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Malappuram, Palakkad, Ernakulam and Kollam.
This announcement has been issued by the Kerala unit of Aam Aadmi Party under the signatures of State Incharge Dr. Shelley Oberoi and State President Advocate Vinod Mathew Wilson. The party’s headquarters is located in Ernakulam North.
This is the first list and the party has indicated that further candidates will be announced. AAP is trying to strengthen its presence in Kerala and plans to focus on local issues through these candidates. With the election symbol ‘broom’ the party is now presenting a new challenge in Kerala politics.
