New Delhi . Interpol has taken major action against drugs under ‘Operation Lionfish-Meaag III’. Interpol took action against drug trafficking and seized synthetic drugs worth US $ 6.5 billion (57,000 crore). Interpol has given this information through social media platform X.
Interpol shared the video and stated that synthetic drugs worth US $ 6.5 billion have been seized, taking action against the drug trafficking.
Officials recovered a total of 76 tonnes of drugs, including 51 tons of methamfetamine as well as phentennel, heroin, cocaine and other chemical substances.
According to Interpol, ‘Operation Lionfish-Mayag III’ was successfully carried out from 30 June to 13 July 2025 against the production and smuggling of synthetic drugs in 18 countries in Asia and North America.
Synthetic drugs worth US $ 6.5 billion have been seized under this operation. 386 people were arrested during this campaign.
Interpol reported that Operation was carried out in 18 countries including India. During this campaign, the price of 76 tonnes of narcotics seized in the international market was estimated at $ 6.5 billion. During this period, a record 297 million intoxicating bullets were recovered.
According to the information, drugs were hidden in surfboard, T box, cat food and coffee machine. The quantity of the recovered phentanil was so much that it could kill 15.1 million people.
According to Interpol, it is one of the largest international drugs of drugs ever.
