New Delhi, 16 September (IANS). Tata -owned British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) said on Tuesday that it has extended its decision to stop production after a cyber security breech incident earlier this month till 24 September.
The company said that its operations are disrupted globally due to continuation of cyber security breech.
JLR said in a statement that it has informed its employees, suppliers and partners about the decision to hold production by Wednesday (September 24).
The company said, “Today we have informed our colleagues, suppliers and partners that we have extended our production stop till Wednesday, 24 September.”
The car manufacturer said that she is still conducting a forensic check for cyber attack and is carefully planning various stages to resume its operations in a controlled manner.
The company said, “We are very sorry for the continuous blockage caused by this incident, and as the investigation goes forward, we will continue to give updates.”
This blockage has come at a challenging time for JLR. The vehicle manufacturer is already struggling with declining profits due to increasing costs associated with American tariffs.
This cyber attack has increased production at a time when the company is working to strengthen its business.
Jaguar Land Rover signed a five -year contract of 80 million pounds with Tata Consultancy Services in 2023 to provide cyber security and IT assistance.
The deal was part of JLR’s strategy to speed up digital change in its operations. Despite these efforts, the current Breech has given a major blow.
Industry analysts say long -term suspension may affect JLR’s supply chain and sales goals in major markets.
At the moment, the company is focusing on restoration of its system safely and ensuring that its operations become normal as soon as possible.
