The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) has issued a major statement regarding the safety of common people and citizens living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). NHRI has strongly condemned the Iranian military attacks taking place on the UAE border from 28 February 2026. The organization has clearly said that this step is a direct attack on the sovereignty of the country. Due to this attack, the human rights of expatriates working in UAE and the local people there are being seriously affected.
What did NHRI say about Iran’s attack?
Human Rights Organization (NHRI) has taken a strong stance regarding this attack by releasing an official report on 15 March 2026. The organization believes that such a military attack on the border of any country is extremely dangerous for the common citizens living there. Security is the biggest issue for Indians and other expatriates working in Gulf countries, and such attacks can also put their lives in danger.
The main focus of the organization is that any kind of military action should not put the lives of common people and their fundamental rights in danger. NHRI has clarified that it is the responsibility of every country to provide a safe environment to its citizens and the foreigners living there, which is being affected due to these attacks.
Direct violation of international rules (UN)
NHRI has emphasized in its report that this step of Iran is a direct violation of the United Nations (UN) Charter and international laws. At the international level, rules have been made that prevent civilians from being unnecessarily endangered. The organization points out several key points:
Prohibition on use of force: According to international law, it is completely wrong to put civilians in danger by using military force.
Safety of common people: Putting the lives of civilians at risk in military attacks is a direct violation of human rights.
Respect for sovereignty: Taking military action within the border of any country is against the rights and rules of that country.
This entire matter has now been brought under the international human rights framework. This statement of the organization will act as an official record, so that countries around the world can be told what threats are being created to the safety of common citizens.
