RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s attack against infiltration in Bihar is a strategy to divert attention before the assembly elections in the state.
Yadav was asked to comment on the speech made by the Prime Minister in Purnia a day earlier, accusing the opposition party of saving and defending the intruders.
The Prime Minister also said that infiltration has created a “demographic crisis” and the common people are “worrying about the honor of their sisters and daughters”.
Yadav, whose party is quite popular among the minorities, said, “Let’s assume that there are infiltrators in Bihar for a moment. Then the question arises that what you (Modi) have been doing till now? You have been in power for 11 years. Also, you (BJP -led NDA) have been ruling the state for 20 years.”
The Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly expressed surprise whether the ruling government had been able to identify a single intruder in Bihar.
Yadav claimed, “I would like to tell that in Jharkhand last year, he raised a similar issue when assembly elections were going on there. Now they have forgotten it.”
The former Deputy Chief Minister alleged, “The issue of infiltration is raised as a strategy to divert attention. It is a feeling of good governance to the NDA, providing employment, education, health services to people and ensuring quick and effective solutions to their grievances.”
He also claimed that the India alliance would “defeat NDA in elections”.
He said, “We will form a government that will ensure ‘studies’, ‘medicine’, ‘earning’ and ‘action’. I am starting the Bihar Adhikar Yatra with this message.”
