The council there has taken major action against two people who spit betel leaves on the road in Brent area of London, the capital of Britain. A total fine of more than 1300 pounds has been imposed on these two persons of Indian origin. The local administration has taken this strict step to maintain the cleanliness of the roads so that people do not litter in public places.

Who were fined and what is the whole matter?

Brent Council has launched a special campaign against spitting paan and gutkha on the road. Under this, Akshatkumar Bhadre Patel and Hitesh Patel were found violating the rules. Brent Council has imposed a fine of 1,391 pounds i.e. about Rs 1 lakh 72 thousand on 31-year-old Akshatkumar Bhadre Patel, resident of Edgware, through North West London Magistrates Court. He did not appear in the court during the hearing, after which the charges against him were proved in his absence.

Council will take strict action if rules are violated

Akshatkumar was found guilty of spitting paan on a road in Kingsbury on June 11, 2025. Brent Council is increasingly charging fines to keep its streets clean. The council says that spitting in public places spreads filth and diseases. It is very important for expatriates living in cities like London to follow local cleanliness rules.

This strict action of Brent Council makes it clear that those who litter in public places will not be spared. This heavy fine imposed on these persons of Indian origin serves as a lesson to other people also so that they take care of the cleanliness of the city. People who travel or live abroad should take special care of these rules.
