Uttarakhand news: In view of the situation arising out of the continuous excess rainfall in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami took the updated information from Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Shri Vinod Kumar Suman about the damage and relief work across the state. The Chief Minister directed the officials to provide early relief to all the affected and the missing persons should be investigated on a war footing. The Chief Minister clarified that the government is standing with every affected citizen in this hour and no stone unturned will be left in relief and rescue operations. He instructed the officials that negligence will not be tolerated at any level and the problems of the people should be solved on the spot by going to the affected areas.
Chief Minister Dhami on Tuesday conducted a terrestrial inspection of Maldevata and Kesarwala areas of Dehradun district. During the inspection, he instructed the local administration to speed up the speed and rescue operations and provide all possible help to the citizens. He said that due to overflow, roads, bridges and public properties in different parts of the state have suffered heavy damage, affecting the life of the common man. He directed that the blocked routes should be opened soon and the restoration of electricity, water and communication services should be done on priority.
The Chief Minister said that the administration teams are continuously active in the field and all the departments are carrying out relief, rescue and rehabilitation works with mutual coordination. In view of the rise in the water level of the rivers, special vigilance is being taken in sensitive areas. Chief Secretary Mr. Anand Burdhan visited the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) on Tuesday to monitor the disaster of the state. He held a meeting with the officials and reviewed the progress of relief and rescue operations and directed that necessary services should be restored immediately in all the affected areas.
The Chief Secretary said that the Chief Minister himself is constantly monitoring the situation and has established regular dialogues with the District Magistrates. He instructed all the departments to work effectively while working with mutual coordination. Mr. Vinod Kumar Suman, Secretary, Department of Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department, was active with his team in the control room since Tuesday morning. He reviewed the information received from all over the state and monitored relief work. He said that waterlogging, landslides, road barriers and other disaster problems are being taken quick action. All districts are being in constant contact and supply of resources is being ensured as needed.
Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Mr. Anand Swaroop, Implementation DIG Mr. Rajkumar Negi, Joint Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mohammad Obedullah Ansari and USDMA experts were also present in the control room. Monitoring has been increased in sensitive areas by coordinating between all departments. Secretary Mr. Suman said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, relief and rescue work in all the affected areas is going on a war footing. The work of searching for missing people and transferring people to safe places from disaster -hit places is being done rapidly.
