The Defense Ministry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has informed on March 21, 2026 that its air defense system has successfully intercepted three ballistic missiles and eight Iranian drones coming towards the country. Since the tension started on 28 February 2026, till now the UAE Army has foiled more than 2100 air threats. The explosions that occurred during these attacks were heard in many different areas of the UAE and were said to be the result of the defense system destroying the threats.
How much damage has been caused in the attacks so far?
According to data released by the ministry, since the beginning of this conflict, UAE’s air defense has shot down a large number of enemy missiles and drones. So far, two members of the UAE armed forces and six civilians have lost their lives in these attacks. According to the official report, the dead civilians include people of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi and Palestinian origin. Apart from this, about 160 people have been injured and are undergoing treatment.

What steps have been taken for security?
The UAE is using modern systems like Patriot batteries and THAAD from the US to strengthen its security. Along with this, America has approved an arms package of $ 8 billion to help the UAE and thousands of American marines have been deployed in the Middle East. Ukraine has also sent more than 200 of its experts to the Gulf country to help deal with Iranian drone attacks. The administration has advised people to trust only official sources.
