A case has come to light against many people, including a prominent land businessman of the city, for cheating them to the tune of Rs 2 crore 95 lakh by giving them stake in the company and on the pretext of profit in land deals. In this regard, a case has been registered in Pur police station on the complaint of two senior citizens of Pur area. According to the police, Pur resident Umaid Lal son of Mangilal Singhvi and Mahendra Kumar son of Mitthulal Khabya reported that Kanchipuram resident Mahavir Singh, RC Vyas Colony resident Sunil Kumar, Pur resident Raghuveer Singh, Kanchipuram resident Rajesh Kumar Baler, Sushil Kumar Gokhru, Shastri Nagar resident Naveen Kumar Kakani and Shiv Prakash Sodani and other accused gave them equal share in the company and got profits in land deals. It was told in the complaint that after purchasing about 42 bighas of land in Magri Gurla-Karoi area, the accused proposed a partnership and assured to share in the profits by forming a private company. During this period, lakhs of rupees were invested from the applicants through bank loans and personal accounts.
The victims allege that the accused later did not make them directors or shareholders in the company and sold the land to third parties without their knowledge. Not only this, payment of about Rs 1.25 crore was also stopped. Overall, an amount of approximately Rs 2.95 crore has been alleged to have been embezzled.
The names of others including Oonkar Mali, CA Naveen Kakani, Kamala Devi, Hastimal and Shantilal have also surfaced in the case. The victims also alleged that the accused were pressurizing them for demanding money and an attempt was being made to intimidate them by citing their political influence.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under sections 316(2) and 318(4) of the BNS and handed over the investigation to Assistant Sub-Inspector Parasmal Taylor.
