Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, while making several important development announcements during the Thanks and Vikas Faridabad rally organized in Faridabad on Saturday, said that to reduce vehicular pollution, major junctions of the city will be improved in a phased manner, so that the traffic can be smooth and pollution can be reduced. He said that in view of the quality challenges due to groundwater based water supply, the possibility of providing fresh drinking water from the Upper Ganga Canal will be explored. For this, necessary steps will be taken in coordination with the Uttar Pradesh government to deliver Ganga canal water to Faridabad.
The Chief Minister announced that rainwater harvesting systems will be installed in 50 community centers and parks of Faridabad city in the first phase. Apart from this, arrangements for rain water harvesting will be ensured by the concerned departments in government buildings also, so that along with water conservation, the problem of waterlogging can be solved. He said that a nature park would be developed in Greater Faridabad under the Divya Nagar scheme at a cost of about Rs 10 crore.
The Chief Minister also announced that a large banquet hall would be developed on top of multilevel parking on about 3 acres of HSVP land opposite the Convention Hall and near the Labor Court. He said that the state government will provide land to open a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Greater Faridabad, so that the children of the area can get the benefit of quality education.
The Chief Minister also announced to set up a multispecialty hospital in Sector-8 on PPP mode. Also, IMT Sector-66 will be developed as a commercial sector and developed as an entertainment city, where modern facilities related to cinema halls, hotels, multiplexes will be developed. Apart from this, the swimming pool located in Sector-12 will be upgraded on PPP mode and developed as all-weather and as per international standards.
Naib Singh Saini also announced a separate grant of Rs 5 crore for development works. He said that the recently approved Delhi-Gurugram-Faridabad-Noida RRTS/NaMo Bharat Corridor will provide a new economic boost to Faridabad and will give an unprecedented boost to the connectivity of the region.
