Bhopal, April 6 (IANS). Taking a major step towards strengthening internal security, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday launched a joint training and demonstration program between the National Security Guard and Madhya Pradesh Police at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal.
The Chief Minister made two major announcements to strengthen the anti-terrorism capacity of the state. He said that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) worth Rs 200 crore has been prepared for the modernization of the Counter Terrorist Group (CTG), which will be implemented soon.
Apart from this, a modern training center for disaster management and anti-terrorism operations will be established in Tumra village of Huzur tehsil of Bhopal district. This center will play an important role in strengthening national security preparedness.
This training program will run from 7 April to 4 May. It aims to further equip the state police, ATS and CTG personnel to deal with modern security threats.
During the event, Black Cat commandos of NSG demonstrated a mock terrorist attack. He brilliantly demonstrated techniques such as swift action, counter-attack and air operations.
Praising this performance, the Chief Minister said that it is a great example of courage, determination and bravery. He said that with such rigorous training, the security forces are prepared to deal with the challenges at all three levels, land, water and air.
The Chief Minister said that India’s culture talks about welfare of all, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has made it clear that any provocation will be responded to strongly.
He said that extremist forces are a big obstacle in the development of the country and it is necessary to deal with them strictly. He described NSG as a strong security shield of the country and said that as long as the security forces are alert, the citizens will remain safe.
He also said that Madhya Pradesh is now completely free from Naxal influence, the credit for which goes to the security forces.
Director General of Police Kailash Makwana said that in this joint training, training will be given in about 8 important areas.
The program began with a welcome by the police band and was attended by senior police officers and NSG personnel.
