New Delhi, April 9 (IANS). Highlighting efforts for livelihood promotion and inclusivity, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram will lead the 25th Foundation Day celebrations of the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) on Friday, an official said.
The main event will be held at the World Youth Center in New Delhi, where the Union Minister will felicitate successful Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs, an official said in a statement.
Established in 2001, NSTFDC serves as an apex organization dedicated to the economic development of Scheduled Tribes across the country.
The statement said the corporation has played an important role in promoting livelihood opportunities by providing concessional financial assistance for income-generating activities through state channeling agencies.
Apart from Oram, the event will also be attended by Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durga Das Uike and Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs Ranjana Chopra along with former CMDs, senior officers and special guests.
T. Raumuan Paite, CMD, NSTFDC, in his address, is likely to share success stories of successful Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs from across India who have set up sustainable enterprises with financial assistance under the schemes of the Corporation.
The statement said that these beneficiaries represent diverse tribal communities and have ventured into various sectors like traditional food, health services, poultry, dairy, handicrafts, fisheries, retail business, tailoring and others.
The event will also feature cultural performances, including tribal dances and a street play, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of the tribal communities.
Ministry officials in-charge of the celebrations said that there is great enthusiasm among the participants, and the officials are looking forward to welcoming the dignitaries and other stakeholders in a grand manner to mark 25 years of dedicated service of NSTFDC towards tribal empowerment and inclusive development, with a special focus on the welfare of marginalized communities.
