New Delhi, April 18 (IANS). The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said on Saturday that state-owned Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to promote advanced technologies and Digital India.
Under this partnership, both the organizations will work together in the field of advanced technologies, digital transformation and skill development. In this, along with joint projects, consultancy and technical cooperation, solutions will be developed on new technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security, 5G and Cloud Computing.
Additionally, this partnership will also promote creation of turnkey solutions in different sectors, transfer of new technologies and commercialization of innovative products.
In this agreement, emphasis has also been laid on skill development and upskilling of the workforce, so that technical capabilities can be strengthened.
On this occasion, BECIL Chairman and Managing Director DK Murali said that this partnership will strengthen the company’s advanced technologies and digital transformation capabilities. He said that by properly utilizing the strengths of both the institutions, an important contribution will be made in the digital development of the country.
This partnership will help drive innovation, accelerate adoption of new technologies and build a strong and future-ready digital ecosystem in India, in line with the government’s ‘Digital India’ vision.
This MoU was signed by Saurav Chauhan, Director (O&M), BECIL, and Niranjan Vaishnav, Registrar, C-DAC, in the presence of several senior officials.
BECIL is a Miniratna Category-I public sector company under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, providing consultancy and turnkey services in Broadcasting, IT and Telecommunication. At the same time, C-DAC is a research and development organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, which works in areas like advanced computing, high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and cyber security.
