A hair-raising but heart-touching incident has come to light from Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. In Charthawal town, which falls under the jurisdiction of Charthawal police station, a female monkey kept a three-month-old baby girl in its custody for about one and a half hours. The most surprising thing was that, while monkeys are generally aggressive creatures, this particular monkey did not even scratch the girl. Instead, he treated the girl like his own child and showered her with lots of love.
According to reports, the incident took place on Tuesday, when the female monkey suddenly entered the house of a local resident, Tahseen. He pounced and picked up the innocent three-month-old baby Kulsoom, who was sleeping in her swing. Before the family could understand what was happening, the monkey took the girl in her lap and went to a safe corner of the room. When family members and neighbors tried to save the girl, the monkey became aggressive; In self-defence, he bit and injured three-four people.
90 minute ‘rescue operation’
As soon as news of the incident was received, a huge crowd gathered at the spot and the local police also reached immediately. Meanwhile, Sunny, an animal lover associated with ‘Shri Balaji Charitable Society’, reached the spot with his team. Sunny told that the monkey had no intention of harming the girl. It is believed that the monkey had probably lost her child, due to which she started considering Kulsoom as her own child and started keeping her with her. Sunny and his team worked tirelessly for about one and a half hours. To divert the monkey’s attention, he was given food and drinks. Eventually, a moment came when the monkey was distracted, and Sunny—using his intelligence—skillfully and safely freed innocent Kulsoom from the monkey’s grip.
Video of ‘Maternity Love’ goes viral on social media
A video of this entire incident is currently going viral on social media platforms. It can be clearly seen in the footage how gently the female monkey is caressing the girl and showering love on her. As soon as the girl was rescued safely, the family members heaved a sigh of relief. Sunny, who loves animals, released a video in which he described it as a unique phenomenon of nature—a case where an animal formed a motherly bond with a human child. Although the people injured by the female monkey’s bite are still undergoing treatment, the little girl is completely healthy and safe.
