New Delhi, April 25 (IANS). The government on Saturday said that to prevent illegal gas misappropriation, Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) based LPG gas delivery has increased to more than 94.5 percent. Also, online LPG cylinder booking increased by almost 99 per cent across the industry on Friday.

More than 18.63 lakh 5-kg FTL cylinders have been sold since April 1, 2026. About 80,000 small 5-kg cylinders were sold across the country on Friday.

The Petroleum Ministry informed that since April 3, 2026, public sector oil and gas companies (OMCs) have conducted more than 8,770 awareness camps for 5-kg FTL cylinders, in which more than 1,38,000 5-kg FTL cylinders have been sold.

On Friday, 5,717 5-kg FTL cylinders were sold through more than 230 camps.

Further, during the month of April (till April 24), a total of 1,55,524 MT (equivalent to more than 81.85 lakh 19-kg LPG cylinders) commercial LPG has been sold.

More than 5.36 lakh PNG connections have been gasified till date by 2026 and infrastructure has been created for additional 2.61 lakh connections, taking the total number of connections to 7.97 lakh.

The ministry said that about 6.05 lakh customers have registered for new connections. As of April 24, more than 42,280 PNG consumers have surrendered their LPG connections through the website.

Consumers have been given priority and 100 per cent supply to PNG’s domestic transport and CNG transport has been ensured.

CGD companies including IGL, MGL, GAIL Gas and BPCL are offering incentives for domestic and commercial PNG connections. States/UTs and Central Ministries have been requested to expedite necessary approvals for expansion of CGD network.
