The Prime Minister will review the ongoing disaster response and rehabilitation measures after the fierce floods and landslides caused by the monsoon after widespread destruction in the northern states. Around 1.30 pm, Prime Minister Modi will reach Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, where he will meet the officials and will preside over a high-level review meeting on the current situation. He will also interact with the victim families and members of NDRF, SDRF and Disaster Friends Teams engaged in relief operations.

Those who met the Prime Minister include 11 -month -old Neetika, who lost her family in the devastating floods in Kangra. She miraculously survived in a sudden flood due to cloudburst in Talwara village of Gohar sub-division of Mandi district on 30 June and 1 July. The state government has promised full assistance for the upbringing, education and future studies of that girl.
