Amidst the increasing tension in the Middle East and the Iran-America conflict, Pakistan now seems to be becoming the center of global diplomacy. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has once again suddenly reached Islamabad on Sunday. The thing to note is that he had left for Oman from here less than 24 hours ago. Araghchi’s visit is taking place at a time when US President Donald Trump has given big hints about war with Iran. US President Donald Trump has issued a statement saying that the ongoing war with Iran will end soon and America will win it. Trump hinted at keeping the diplomatic door open, saying, “If the Iranians want to talk, they can talk. All they need to do is make a phone call.”
However, uncertainty increased in diplomatic circles when Trump canceled the proposed US delegation meeting to be held in Pakistan on Saturday. Trump believes that the visit of special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner there would be a ‘waste of time’. Meanwhile, there have also been reports that the US military has withdrawn its security equipment from Islamabad, indicating less chances of any major talks in the future.
As soon as he reached Pakistan again, the Iranian Foreign Minister met Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir. According to analyses, Araghchi may present a new diplomatic roadmap on behalf of his government to restart peace talks with the US. He is likely to leave for Moscow (Russia) after the meetings in Islamabad.
Round of dialogue with regional powers
Iran is taking into confidence not only Pakistan but also other Muslim countries. Araghchi has contacted the following leaders in the last 24 hours:
Oman: Personal meeting with Sultan Haitam bin Tariq. Egypt and Türkiye: Discussed ceasefire and diplomatic efforts by telephone with foreign ministers.
Saudi Arabia and Qatar: Dialogue on Regional Stability and the US-Israel War.
Tension in the sea: US blockade continues
On one side diplomatic talks are going on, while on the other side military action is going on in the sea. US CENTCOM said that they have stopped a commercial ship named ‘Siwan’ in the Arabian Sea, which was part of the ‘Shadow Fleet’ smuggling Iranian oil and gas. The US has sent back 37 ships since the blockade began.

The impact of this war is not limited to the borders only. The British Prime Minister’s Office has warned that even if the war ends, the prices of energy, food and air tickets will continue to rise for the next eight months. The British government is working on emergency plans to deal with possible food and fuel shortages.
Resistance Front claims
Meanwhile, Ismail Qani, commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force, has said in a tough tone that the ‘Resistance Front’ is more united than ever and Iran will continue to support Hezbollah. On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has made it clear that he will take firm military action against Hezbollah if it violates the agreements.
