After the failure of the film “Trimurti”, director Subhash Ghai was producing his film “Pardes”. Subhash Ghai worked very hard for this film. He took many big steps for this film. Like in “Pardes”, instead of using star cast like Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan, he decided to work with new actors. Similarly, Subhash Ghai decided to work with Nadeem Shravan instead of great music director Laxmikant Pyarelal in the film “Pardes”. Subhash Ghai wanted his film to have a new flavor which would touch the hearts of the audience.
Musician Nadeem Shravan was happy to get the opportunity to work with Subhash Ghai but he was also a little nervous. The reason for this was that both of them were working with Subhash Ghai for the first time and it was famous about Subhash Ghai that he used to take many retakes of songs in his films. Along with this, until Subhash Ghai was satisfied, he did not finalize the recording. Nadeem Shravan wanted Subhash Ghai to like his work. Lest Subhash Ghai start regretting his decision to include him in place of Laxmikant Pyarelal.
Well the process of music making started. When it came to recording the song “Do Dil Mil Rahe Magar Chupke Chupke”, composers Nadeem – Shravan were extremely nervous. He had confidence in his song but the fear of Subhash Ghai was not allowing him to be relaxed. He had only one thought in his heart that Subhash Ghai should like the song by any means. When it came time to record the song, singer Kumar Sanu reached the recording studio. When Kumar Sanu saw Nadeem Shravan, he realized that both of them were nervous. When he asked Nadeem Shravan the reason for his fear, Nadeem Shravan told him the story of Subhash Ghai’s personality and working style. Nadeem – When Shravan told his feelings to Kumar Sanu, he asked both of them to remain relaxed. Kumar Sanu had full confidence in his singing.
Kumar Sanu went to the recording room and came out after singing the song in just 20 minutes. In an interview, Kumar Sanu tells that when he came out of the recording room after singing the song, Subhash Ghai hugged him. Subhash Ghai told Kumar Sanu that whatever he wanted in this song, he had given it perfectly in one go. Therefore they do not feel the need for retakes. Nadeem Shravan could not believe that Subhash Ghai had finalized his song in one take. Nadeem Shravan hugged Kumar Sanu in happiness. In this way the song “Do Dil Mil Rahe Hain” from the film “Pardes” was recorded and upon its release it touched the sky of popularity.
