A day before the wedding, their Haldi ceremony was held on 13th April which was attended only by family members and close friends. On the same day, Neetu Kapoor confirmed that both of them would get married the next day at her house “Vastu”. The entire wedding program was conducted in a very simple manner.
Talking about the clothes of the bride and groom, Ranbir Kapoor wore a sherwani made of feather colored silk fabric, which was embroidered. Apart from this, he was wearing a turban made of silk fabric and a shawl with zari work. She was also wearing emerald and pearl necklace from the famous brand Sabyasachi’s Heritage Jewellery.
Whereas Alia Bhatt wore fabric ivory shade i.e. off white color saree. Apart from this, a hand-woven scarf was worn on her head. As far as her bridal jewelery is concerned, it was also taken from Sabyasachi’s heritage collection which also included uncut diamonds and hand-strung pearls.
The biggest discussion was about their marriage. Let us tell you that in the marriage of Ranbir and Alia, 4 pundits chanted mantras and got all the rituals done. But both of them took only 4 rounds instead of 7 rounds.
In fact, in Hindu religion, any marriage is considered incomplete without seven rounds. There is a promise associated with every phera which the bride and groom promise to keep to each other. But long ago there was a trend of 4 rounds also.
Let us tell you that in a marriage taking place as per Punjabi customs, only 4 rounds are taken, which is called Laavan Phera. Out of these 4 rounds, in 3 the bride is in front and in 1 the groom is behind. This was the reason that both of them took only 4 rounds.
