Shimla. A dignified and emotional ceremony was organized at Lok Bhawan on Friday to commemorate the foundation day of Gujarat and Maharashtra, in which the spirit of ‘unity in diversity’ of the country was clearly visible. On this occasion, Governor Kavinder Gupta, while addressing the dignity of the program, wished the people of both the states and gave the message of strengthening mutual brotherhood, harmony and cultural coordination. In his address, the Governor said that such events are not just a formality, but they become a powerful medium to bring people from different parts of the country closer to each other. He said that the real strength of India lies in its diversity, where despite different languages, dress, traditions and cultures, a strong national unity prevails. Such events have an important role in further strengthening this unity. During the programme, participants from Gujarat and Maharashtra interacted with the Governor and shared their cultural heritage, folk traditions and social values. This dialogue not only facilitated exchange of information but also took new heights of mutual understanding and respect between the people of different states. A sense of enthusiasm and belonging was clearly visible in the atmosphere, where everyone was feeling proud of their culture, while the eagerness to know and understand the traditions of others was also visible.
While expressing his views, Governor Kavinder Gupta laid special emphasis on the Indian concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. He said that this idea is not just a philosophy but an integral part of the Indian lifestyle, which inspires us to see the entire world as one family. Such events give form to this idea, where people from different states come together and experience a common identity.
He also said that events organized at platforms like Lok Bhavan provide an opportunity for people to understand each other better and express respect for the rich cultural diversity of the country. It is not just a cultural display, but a platform for exchange of feelings, ideas and experiences, which strengthens harmony and unity in the society.
At the end of the program, the Governor honored all the guests by presenting Himachali cap and muffler, which is a symbol of the tradition and intimacy of Himachal. During this, Secretary to the Governor Sandeep Bhardwaj was also present and played his part in the success of the program.
Overall, this event was not just a State Foundation Day celebration, but it emerged as a living example of the breadth, diversity and unity of Indian culture, which gave the message that even though we come from different regions, our identity is one – we are Indians.
