Washington, 19 September (). US President Donald Trump on Friday interacted with Chinese President Xi Jinping over phone and announced that the Chinese leader had approved the ticket deal. Under this agreement, social media app tickets will be able to continue operations in the US.
Trump posted on Truth Social and said that he is expecting “the ticket approval” and is hoping to meet President Xi at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit to be held in South Korea next month.
Trump wrote, “I had a productive conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping over the phone. We progressed on many important issues including trade, fentanel, Russia-Ukraine war and approval of ticket-set deals. I agreed to President Xi that we will meet the Asia-Pressure Economic Cooperation Summit, I will go to China in the beginning of the next year.
According to the Chinese side statement, the conversation between the two leaders was “practical, positive and creative”.
Xi Jinping on Tickets said that China’s situation is “clear”, he respects the wishes of companies and encourages them to hold commercial talks based on market rules and find solutions according to Chinese laws and regulations. He hoped that the US would provide “open, fair and non-discriminatory” environment to Chinese companies.
President Xi recently appreciated the talks between the two teams and stated that he demonstrated “a sense of equality, respect and mutual profit”. He also warned that the US should avoid “unilateral trade restrictive steps” so that the achievements achieved by several rounds are not affected.
Earlier this week, the Trump administration announced that it had signed a structure agreement with China on tickets after two days of talks in Madrid (Spain). These dialogues were led by Finance Minister Scott Besant and business representative Jemisson Greer from the US side, while Deputy Prime Minister He Lefeng and top negotiator from the Chinese side joined the Chinese side.
“We have a framework for the ticket deal,” Besant said in Madrid. However, both sides have not yet made detailed descriptions of the agreement public.
