New Delhi, May 12 (IANS). It has become very important to take special care of health amid the rapidly rising temperatures and heat waves across the country. In this summer season, raw mango available in the market not only enhances the taste but is also a natural and traditional way to keep the body hydrated, improve digestion and fresh.
According to the National Health Mission (NHM), raw mango with sour taste can prove helpful in dealing with many health problems in summer. It is not limited to just making chutney, pickle or panna, but its regular consumption gives not just one or two but many benefits to the body from inside-
Helpful in keeping the body hydrated: Due to excessive sweating in summer, there is lack of water in the body. Raw mango naturally helps in keeping the body hydrated. The electrolytes present in it maintain the body’s water level and reduce fatigue caused by heat.
Strengthens the digestive system: Digestive problems like constipation, acidity and loss of appetite are common in summer. Raw mango activates digestive enzymes, due to which food is digested properly and intestinal health improves.
Helpful in controlling cholesterol: Raw mango contains good amount of fiber, which is helpful in controlling cholesterol levels. This also reduces heart related risks.
Keeps the intestines healthy: The prebiotics present in it promote good bacteria, which improves intestinal health and strengthens immunity.
There are many ways to consume it, like making raw mango panna and drinking it. Use raw mango as chutney or salad. You can eat it by mixing a small amount of salt, black salt and cumin.
However, excessive consumption should be avoided, especially for people suffering from acidity. Pregnant women and people suffering from any disease should include it only after consulting a doctor or nutritionist.
