New Delhi, May 14 (IANS). Internationally, the energy crisis is deepening due to increasing tension and war situation in the Gulf region. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has made a voluntary appeal to the public to reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel.

Speaking to reporters in Bikaner, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said, “Due to the rising international tension related to the Gulf conflict, there is a need to reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel. This is a voluntary appeal to the public and it is also an appeal from the Prime Minister. I appeal to all citizens that as long as this crisis continues, we should try to minimize the use of petrol and diesel, so that we can better handle the situation created by the international tension.”

BJP Bihar State President Sanjay Saraogi praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to limit the convoy to only two vehicles. He said, “Crude oil prices are rising and in many countries the prices of diesel and petrol have increased by 400 to 500 percent. Our Prime Minister has always worked in the national interest. He cut excise duty so that there is no additional burden on the people.”

He said that the Prime Minister appealed to the people to reduce the use of diesel and petrol and urged the governments to do the same. Yesterday we ourselves saw that the Prime Minister was traveling with a convoy of only two vehicles.

Emphasizing on promoting electric vehicles, Saraogi said that the government has approved the EV policy in the cabinet. Its objective is to encourage people towards electric vehicles. He said that in this period of war, the Prime Minister is visiting UAE, where energy security and other important issues will be discussed. Whenever the Prime Minister travels abroad, national interest is paramount.”

On the NEET UG issue, Sanjay Saraogi targeted the opposition and said, “The central government canceled the NEET exam and handed over the investigation to the CBI. Now the CBI is taking action in this matter. The opposition only creates ruckus on such issues. When the paper was leaked, the same people were demanding action. Now even when the action is being taken, they are protesting. This is a question of the future of the children.”

Bihar government minister Ram Kripal Yadav said that five people involved in NEET irregularities have been arrested and strict action is being taken against them. The government will ensure that such incidents do not happen again in future.
