Security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir have once again launched a major campaign against terrorism and separatist networks. In this sequence, the police conducted extensive raids at many places in Sopore on Friday. This action was taken under a case related to the banned organization Jamaat-e-Islami, which is registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
According to the police, this search operation is part of the ongoing strategy to curb the activities of people associated with terrorism and separatist networks. Security forces say that this action was necessary to identify possible associates and their networks associated with banned organizations.
According to the information, simultaneous raids were conducted at more than 15 places in Sopore police district. During this period, many houses and premises were searched and suspicious documents and digital materials were examined. However, no major arrest has been officially confirmed yet.
Police officials said the operation is aimed at weakening the networks that allegedly support banned organizations indirectly. Investigative agencies believe that such networks can help maintain the organization’s activities by being active at the local level.
For some time now, security forces have been continuously intensifying such operations in Jammu and Kashmir, the objective of which is said to be to maintain peace and stability in the region. Officials say that all suspicious activities are being investigated within the ambit of law.
Mixed reactions are being seen regarding this action at the local level. Some people are calling it a necessary step from security point of view, while others are considering it as part of a wider investigation.
