Chandigarh. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini took a high-level review meeting of the Public Health and Engineering Department under ‘Haryana Vision-2047’. In the meeting, the Chief Minister gave strict instructions to the officials and said that providing clean drinking water and better sewerage facilities to every household in the state is the top priority of the government, which should be ensured in a time bound manner. Water infrastructure will be built on the lines of developed countries. The Chief Minister stressed on making the water and sewerage system in the state of global standard. The major decisions taken in the meeting are as follows:
Treatment plant for every 5000 population: The Chief Minister directed that an action plan should be prepared for setting up water treatment plants for every 5000 population areas in the state.
Waterworks will be connected to canal water: To ensure availability of pure drinking water, all the waterworks in the state will be connected to the canal water network.
24-hour water in smart cities: Keeping in mind the future needs, instructions have been given to rapidly start work towards 24-hour continuous drinking water supply (24×7 Water Supply) in smart cities.
Basic facilities will be available in new colonies and allotted plots
During the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on providing basic facilities in the plots of 100-100 square yards allotted by the government, new colonies and recently approved colonies. The Chief Minister clarified that the citizens living in these areas will not have to worry about water and sewerage.
AI will solve complaints and focus on recycled water
While promoting modern technology, strategies were made on many more important points in the meeting:
Expansion of sewerage system and recycling: Along with expanding the sewerage network, emphasis was laid on the possibility of reusing treated water so that wastage of water could be prevented.
AI based complaint analysis: For quick resolution of water and sewerage related problems of the general public, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based complaint system will be developed, which will analyze the complaints and speed up their disposal.
The Chief Minister directed the officers that all the departments should work with mutual coordination to implement these goals of Vision-2047 so that Haryana can be made a leading state in the field of water management.
