Security agencies from New Delhi have got great success. Haobijam Dilip Singh, a senior commander of Manipur’s banned militant organization Kanglipak Communist Party (KCP), has been arrested. More than 12 cases are said to be registered against the accused under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
According to the information, security agencies had received input that Haobijam Dilip Singh had reached Delhi to hold a secret meeting. After this the agencies increased surveillance and arrested him by conducting a special operation.
According to sources, the accused was active in banned activities for a long time and was linked to militant networks in Manipur. The investigating agencies are now busy finding out with whom his secret meeting was going to take place in Delhi and what was its purpose.
Officials say that cases are registered against the accused under many serious sections including UAPA. He is accused of promoting extremist activities, creating networks and suspicious contacts.
After the arrest, security agencies are continuously interrogating the accused. His mobile phone, digital devices and contacts are also being examined. The agencies suspect that through it, important information can be obtained about the networks active in different parts of the country.
After this action, security arrangements have been made more alert in many sensitive areas including the capital Delhi. The investigating agencies are also trying to find out whether the accused was preparing for some big conspiracy.
Security officials say that the operation against anti-national and banned organizations will continue and any suspicious activity is being closely monitored.
