India Women’s Relay: India’s women’s 4×100 meter relay team performed brilliantly at the New Taipei City Athletics Open competition on Saturday. Along with winning the gold medal, the team also created a new meet record. This competition is an important international competition in the Continental Tour Silver category of World Athletics.
Won golden victory by leaving Vietnam behind

During this, the Indian team broke the previous meet record and won over Vietnam by an easy margin of 0.31 seconds. Vietnam stood second.
Shaili Singh won another gold in long jump
Apart from the relay wins, India also had success in the field events, with promising long jumper Shaili Singh winning the gold medal in the women’s long jump event. Shaili recorded a best performance of 6.24 meters and remained ahead of her competitor. He added another gold to India’s medal tally in the meet.
Tejas Shirse won silver in 110 meter hurdles
India’s Tejas Shirse also impressed on the track, winning a silver medal in the Men’s 110m Hurdles. Tejas ran a great race amidst tough competition and finished second. With this performance he also continued his steady progress in the hurdles event. Tejas had earlier also won gold in the National Championship. His gold winning time was 13.50 seconds. He improved his own meet record of 13.61 seconds, but missed qualifying for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) as the qualifying time was 13.39 seconds.
India’s excellent performance in Under-20 Championship also
Earlier, the Indian women’s relay team also performed well at the Under-20 Athletics Championships, where India won a record 19 medals. Women’s 4×100 meter relay also captured the silver medal with a time of 45.05 seconds. Team members were Kajal, Hirabhai Waja, Bhavana ji, Aarti and Nipam.
Men’s 4×400 meter relay team improves meet record
The Indian men’s 4x400m relay team also improved its meet record of 3:07.38, but finished third with a timing of 3:05.54. Team members were Piyush Raj, Syed Sabir, Ranjit Kumar S and Mohammad Ashfaq.
