Rescue operation started at five in the morning
According to the information, the local administration received information about the accident at 5 am on Sunday. As soon as the information was received, teams of Rudraprayag Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), DDRF and 108 ambulance service immediately left for the spot. Relief and rescue teams reached the spot and conducted a special operation to reach the vehicle that had fallen on the river bank.
Devotees from West Bengal were on Kedarnath Yatra
It was told that the accident vehicle number UP-16 DK 0856 was going on a pilgrimage to Kedarnath Dham carrying devotees from West Bengal. Suddenly the driver lost control and the car fell off the road. After the accident, there was an atmosphere of chaos at the spot, but due to the promptness of the relief teams, all the passengers were evacuated safely.
Injured identified, treatment continues in hospital
The passengers injured in the accident have been identified as Prince Singh, Sahima Singh, Sujon Mukherjee, Riza Mukherjee and driver Pradeep Kumar. Of these, two female passengers have suffered serious injuries, while the other three passengers have suffered minor injuries. After first aid, all the injured were sent to Rudraprayag District Hospital, where their treatment is going on.
Major loss of life averted due to timely rescue work
According to police officials, a major loss of life was averted due to the timely start of relief and rescue operations. The causes of the accident are being investigated. Initially the vehicle being out of control is believed to be the cause of the accident. Amidst the ever-increasing traffic on the hilly roads during the Chardham Yatra, the administration has appealed to the passengers to be cautious and drive at a safe speed. At the same time, a sigh of relief is being taken as all the passengers survived safely in this incident.
