Mayurbhanj. The day of 19th and 20th June is going to be recorded in the golden pages of history for Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. For the first time, leaders holding the two highest constitutional posts in the country, President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will visit the district together. Unprecedented enthusiasm is being seen regarding this historic occasion in the President’s home district and his native village Paharpur. President Draupadi Murmu had invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit his native village Paharpur on the occasion of his birthday. Accepting this invitation, the Prime Minister has planned to reach Paharpur on June 20. After this announcement, a festive atmosphere has been created in the entire Mayurbhanj, especially Rairangpur and Paharpur area. The people of the village, who have seen Draupadi Murmu since childhood, are extremely excited to see their ‘daughter of the soil’ as well as Prime Minister Modi so closely for the first time. Along with administrative preparations, the village is also being specially decorated. As per the schedule, President Murmu will reach Dandbos Airstrip on June 19 at 3:15 pm. From there she will go to her residence in Rairangpur by road and is likely to reach around 3:30 pm. At 6 pm she will visit the mega health camp organized by AIIMS at Rairangpur hospital campus and interact with the common people. After this, on June 20, the President will reach Paharpur village at 10:30 am. After this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach the village at 11:05, where he will be given a grand welcome.
The President and the Prime Minister will jointly visit the sacred places of worship of the village like Gosani Peeth, Santhali Zahira and Ho-Munda Zahira. After this, at 11:25 am both the leaders will visit the Skill Development Center and talk to the trained and successful youth there.
The two dignitaries will also visit the SLS Memorial School, where the President will lay wreath at the statues of her late husband and her two sons. During this time, Prime Minister Modi will also visit the school and interact with the students and local people. The Prime Minister will also visit the special regional handicraft fair organized in the school premises.
At 12:30 pm the President and the Prime Minister will leave for Dandbos airstrip by helicopter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address more than 50 thousand people in the huge public meeting organized here. On this occasion, he will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of many development projects of the district.
President Murmu will return to her residence in Rairangpur after the Prime Minister leaves at around 2 pm. After lunch she will leave for New Delhi at 3:30 pm.
In view of this high-profile visit, the entire Mayurbhanj district has been converted into a fort for security reasons. The Director General of Police of Odisha himself is regularly reviewing the preparations. Under the security arrangements, 135 platoons of police force, five companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), two commandants and 10 senior IPS officers have been deployed. The administration claims that the security arrangements will be fully tightened.
BJP MP Naba Charan Majhi told that President Draupadi Murmu will visit on June 19 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 20. Programs have been scheduled in Paharpur, where he will visit the Skill Development Center and SLS Memorial School. After this, both the dignitaries will reach Dandbos airstrip by helicopter, where a huge public meeting will be organised.
Odisha Urban Development Minister Krishna Chandra Mahapatra said the state government is rapidly implementing housing schemes to take forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a roof over the head of every person. He said that along with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the state government has started the Antyodaya Griha Yojana, so that more and more people can get the benefit of housing. Under the Chief Minister Annapurna Yojana, 5 kg rice will be given free of cost to the poor. The central government is already providing 5 kg of food grains and now the state government will also provide additional 5 kg.”
Mahapatra said that work is also being done on a large scale in the education and health sectors. There is a plan to establish schools in every gram panchayat so that students can get better education. Also, Arogya Mandir will be established in every Panchayat, where various types of testing facilities and medicines will be available.
BJP leader Sanjib Mohanty said that there is huge enthusiasm among the people regarding the visit of President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi. He said that this yatra will give new identity to the tribal dominated areas at the national level. Mohanty said that President Draupadi Murmu is constantly trying to establish tribal societies and areas on the national stage. This historic tour will give new recognition to the culture, traditions and development possibilities of Mayurbhanj and surrounding tribal areas across the country.
