Patna, June 21 (). On the occasion of 12th International Yoga Day, yoga programs were organized with great enthusiasm in various districts of Bihar. Leaders, public representatives, officials and common people practiced yoga and gave the message of healthy life, mental peace and overall well-being.
In Muzaffarpur, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that in 2014, after taking oath as the ‘Pradhan Servant’ of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed International Yoga Day in September the same year. This proposal got the support of 177 countries and today Yoga Day is being celebrated on a large scale all over the world as well as in India.
Minister Prem Kumar participated in the International Yoga Day program organized at Bihar Assembly complex in Patna. During this, MLAs, officers and employees took part in yoga and meditation sessions and gave the message of healthy lifestyle and mental peace.
Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that Yoga has spread from the land of Bihar only. He told that even today people from all over the world come to Munger to learn yoga and spread its teachings to their respective countries. He said that doing yoga maintains happiness in life and the person remains away from many diseases.
In Bhagalpur, Agriculture Minister of Bihar Government, Vijay Kumar Sinha addressed the people on the occasion of Yoga Day and highlighted the importance of Yoga.
Minister Nishant Kumar extended best wishes to the people of Bihar and the country on International Yoga Day. He said that he has requested the Chief Minister to include Yoga in the curriculum of all the schools and colleges of Bihar, so that the new generation can also connect with its benefits.
Sasaram MLA Sneh Lata in Rohtas district said that International Yoga Day was celebrated enthusiastically in government and private institutions. He emphasized on the usefulness of yoga for health and better life and said that yoga helps in keeping our body healthy and free from diseases. People of all ages, whether young or old, should practice yoga. On this occasion, many dignitaries including BJP Mahila Morcha State Vice President Sheela Singh were present. Many people including Rashtriya Lok Morcha MLA Snehlata Kushwaha practiced yoga in the program organized at Nehru Park.
Engineer Sachchidanand Rai, Legislative Council member in Saran, said that if world leaders like Trump, Putin, Khamenei and Netanyahu do yoga, then wars can end, because yoga not only improves mental and physical health but also helps in brain development.
Muzaffarpur SSP Kantesh Mishra appealed to the people to do yoga regularly and said that yoga is very beneficial and essential for life.
In Bhagalpur, former Union Minister Ashwini Choubey said that Yoga is an ancient tradition of India and due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has got new recognition in the whole world.
