New Delhi, June 21 (IANS). Air India Express on Sunday announced the launch of direct flights between Navi Mumbai International Airport and Abu Dhabi. With this, it has become the first airline to start international operations from Maharashtra’s newest airport.
According to the announcement made by the airline, the new services are going to start from July 15. The new services will initially operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays. After this, it will be increased to three flights a week by adding one service on Sunday from July 29.
Under the initial schedule, the flights will depart Abu Dhabi at 5:45 am and reach Navi Mumbai at 10:20 am (local time).
Additionally, the return flight will depart Navi Mumbai at 2:55 am and reach Abu Dhabi at 4:35 am (local time).
With the addition of the Abu Dhabi service, Air India Express will operate 30 flights a week from Navi Mumbai, directly connecting the airport to Abu Dhabi, Bengaluru and Delhi.
The airline said its presence in Maharashtra is continuously growing, with over 95 flights from Mumbai, over 100 from Pune and 14 from Nagpur every week.
The launch will provide travelers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with another gateway to the UAE, enhancing connectivity and providing more convenience and choice in travel.
Additionally, booking for this route is now open through the airline’s website, mobile application and other booking channels.
Air India Express runs one of the largest networks between India and West Asia, connecting several Indian cities with destinations in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
