Gwalior Couple Suicide Case: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Hastinapur village in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh. Here the dead bodies of a newly married couple were found hanging with the help of a single rope in their own room. The deceased have been identified as Vinod Prajapati and Laxmi Prajapati. As soon as information about the incident was received, sensation spread in the entire area and a crowd of people gathered at the spot.
In the preliminary investigation, the police suspect that there was a serious dispute between the husband and wife over some issue before taking the suicidal step.
The marriage took place in April 2025
Police investigation has revealed that the marriage of Vinod Prajapati and Lakshmi Prajapati took place with great pomp in April 2025. Only one year had passed since their marriage. Recently both of them had gone to attend a wedding ceremony organized at Lakshmi’s maternal home in Bhind.
It is being told that both of them had returned home from the function in the night itself. After reaching home, an argument started between them over some unknown matter, which later turned into a serious dispute. However, what the dispute was about is not yet known.
When the door of the room was broken, a horrifying scene emerged.
Both of them did not come out of their room since the next morning after the incident. Vinod’s younger brother Himanshu reached home in the evening. When he saw the door of the room closed, he called out several times and knocked on the door, but got no response from inside.
After this Himanshu called his father Lakhan Singh and gave complete information. At that time Lakhan Singh had also gone to attend a wedding ceremony. As soon as he received the information, he immediately reached home and informed Hastinapur Police Station.
The police team reached the spot under the leadership of Sub Inspector Lokendra Singh Kushwaha. When the door did not open even after several attempts, the police broke the door with the help of an axe. Everyone was shocked to see the scene inside the room. Both husband and wife were found hanging from the same noose.
Broken mobile phones and uneaten food tell the story of the night.
During the investigation of the incident, the police found many evidences which pointed towards the dispute that took place before the incident. The mobile phones of both of them were found lying on the floor in a broken condition in the room. Police suspect that in anger both of them had thrown their or each other’s mobile phones on the ground.
Apart from this, a plate was also found in the room, in which dinner was served. However, despite the food being served, no one had eaten even a single morsel of it. The police have not found any suicide note from the spot, due to which the reason for the suicide is not clear yet.
The biggest question before the police is, what happened in the maternal house?
The biggest question before the police in this entire matter is that what happened during or after the wedding ceremony held in Bhind, which forced the newly married couple to take such a big step.
The police is now also investigating this aspect to see whether the root of the dispute was any incident or conversation that took place in the maternal home. To get to the bottom of the matter, statements of the deceased’s maternal family members will also be recorded.
Mobiles will be sent for forensic investigation
Sub Inspector Lokendra Singh Kushwaha, who is investigating the case, said that many important evidences have been found from the spot. Broken mobile phones and uneaten food indicate that there was a serious dispute between the two before they were hanged.
He told that the maternal side of the deceased is being called to Gwalior to know the real reason of the dispute. Also, the damaged mobile phones of both will be sent to Cyber Expert and Forensic Lab, so that the data related to their last calls, messages and chats can be recovered.
At present, the police have filled the Panchnama of both the bodies and sent them for postmortem. A case has been established and investigation has been started from every aspect and the police is busy finding out the real reason behind the incident.
